The Tigers took a few minutes to get into the game and eventually gained a penalty in front of the posts. Joel Scott Paul knocked it over to get three points on the board.  A few minutes later Cantabs were hammering at the Tigers line, quick ball forced them over the line for an unconverted try.  Soon after Ely kicked another penalty when the opposition were penalised for hands in the ruck. The Tigers then made a break through Matt McCarthy and the ball went through the hands to Luke Turner, who ran a perfect support line to touch down for a converted try. Cantabs started to apply a lot of pressure on Ely, they gave away several penalties and couldn’t stop Cantabs from touching down for a converted try.

In the second half was much of the same, the game was back and forth. Cantabs pulled ahead with two unconverted tries. The Tigers fought hard in dying minutes of the game and Scott Paul darted in the corner for a converted try. In the last play of the game the Tigers made it to the twenty-two before knocking-on the ball to end the contest. Final score: 22-20 to Cantabs.
