BURWELL CARNIVAL EVENING ENTERTAINMENT!
6.15pm – JUDE KEEN – Jazz & Swing vocalist!
A hugely versatile singer, Jude Keen has sung in bands, musical theatre productions and many other capacities over the years. Today, she is enjoying singing as much as ever by entertaining audiences with her Jazz and Swing set covering classics from
Ella Fitzgerald to Caro Emerald, Frank Sinatra and Eva Cassidy. She makes a welcome return to our stage, having performed for
Carnival in 2016. Jude is also a vocalist with a rock and
pop covers band, The 142 Band: www.the142s.co.uk.
7.00pm – MUSIC UNLIMITED – drawing upon local talent!
A blast of song covers from talented local performers, who regularly feature at Burwell’s ‘Open Mic’ events held every month at the
7.30pm – VINTAGE JAG – 50’s and 60’s Rock & Roll and Classic R&B
Good music doesn’t have an expiration date! Formed in London around 1964, the group, then known as ‘The Jag’ have reformed after 43 years and are rocking and rolling as fast as they ever were.
Vintage Jag specialises in 50’s and 60’s Rock & Roll and Classic R&B, so are sure to get feet moving and the rhythm flowing at Carnival tonight!
They are available for bookings; whether it’s a club, pub, event or
birthday party. www.facebook.com/VintageJag/
8.45pm – Now Wash Your Hands – back once again, bringing us Funk & Soul, and good old Rock & Roll covers!
Now Wash Your Hands are back by popular demand having rocked & danced out the Carnival field last year as our headline act playing their medleys of Funk & Soul and traditional Rock & Roll classics. The band features Burwell Surgery’s very own, Dr Alex Manning on guitar and fiddle…but, will he be sporting his kilt again this year? There’s only one way to find out!
Now Wash Your Hands are a seven piece band with members coming from all corners of the county. They are now celebrating
their 11th year gigging and continue to operate with a total disregard for whatever is considered hip and fashionable along with sporting a ‘no-go’ zone for anything too indulgent. They get their audience dancing early on and pull out every trick they have to keep them up on their feet.
Available for weddings, functions, private parties and anywhere else a good time is needed! www.facebook.com/grubbymitts
To quench your thirst, we have our licensed bar (12 noon-10.45pm) selling real ale, lagers and Pimms by the jugs/glasses, along
with other spirits, soft drinks and snacks. Food wise, we have the addition of a noodle bar attending for the first time plus our regular attendees of: fish & chips, burgers, pizzas & pork rolls on offer throughout the event. For those with a sweet tooth, doughnuts & ice cream will be on sale come rain or shine!
The Fair this year sees the return of the ever popular ‘HI Energy Miami’, together with a slightly larger set of Dodgems!
