Extending my Hear The Music songwriters’ event to this gorgeous pub in Haddenham starting next Thursday. And then every other Thursday.
To kick off this new event we have four well known, well established professional artists – you will not be disappointed!
London born ROMY GENSALE and regular headliner of venues such as The Borderline, Dingwalls, Mean Fiddler and Fulham Greyhound with former London bands now goes solo to encapsulate the dramas of life in her own unique and eclectic style with acoustic guitar and powerful vocals. Since starting her solo career, Romy has appeared on the acoustic stage of The Cambridge Rock Festival, the Willow Fest and Cluzion Music stage at Strawberry Fair.
A great opportunity to watch and hear Marcel playing solo with his heartfelt songs and eloquent yet effortless piano playing.
Marcel describes himself as “odd, and often torn between many different job roles within the music industry” His creative influences come from various sources including working as a sound bar engineer alongside diverse artists such as Rick Wakeman, Boney M, John Cage and The London Symphony Orchestra and acquiring useful insights into the complex integration of word, music and sound which much of us take for granted.
CLAUDIA MCKENZIE plays a colourful mixture of musical styles. Mellow yet uplifting acoustic sweetness with hints of soul, jazz, folk and a good sense of fun. Claudia has been one of Cambridge’s busiest bass players for well over a decade and currently plays with Cambridge Band Competition winners 4th Labyrinth. Three years ago she decided to focus on her own songwriting and has been playing solo acoustic gigs as well as fronting her own band ‘Claudia & the Braidy Bunch’.
Captivating singer-songwriter JO ASH from Newmarket, delivers emotive vocal performances, accompanied by expressive piano playing. Often likened to Kate Bush and Siouxsie Sioux, Jo also fronts rock band Derecho. She has appeared at Cambridge Rock Festival with Derecho, as well as Strawberry Fair and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
