It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Ok, so it’s only November – but tonight saw the launch of Ely Markets Festive Lates.

Entertained by Ely rockerbilly Jacen Bruce, shoppers were able to try lots of delicious street food, ranging from Thai to Sri Lanken and vegan, as well as gourmet cakes, mulled wine and espresso martinis.

dsc_1229A number of local businesses, including The Eel Catcher’s Daughter, the Card Factory, M&Co and the Wood Green Animal Shelter charity shop opened for extended hours tonight to take part in the special late night shopping promotion.

The first Festive Lates market coincided with the launch of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness 2016, Lighting up Ely Cathedral. Niki Brown, who was behind the initiative, had a stall at the market to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer.

dsc_1249Festive Lates will run from 4.30pm to 8.30pm every Thursday in the run up to Christmas.
