DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fantastic half-day art workshop with local artist, Jane Fellows at The Stained Glass Museum.\nJoin local artist, Jane Fellows as she takes you on a brief tour of our museum gallery, encouraging you to notice the various shapes, patterns and use of feathers in our collection of stained glass, old and new.\nUsing this as a starting point you will learn how to create stunning gel plates in various colours, adding feathers and rock salt to reproduce their delicate forms and textures. Printing on to tissue paper to achieve a transparent effect, you’ll have an opportunity to make your final designs into vibrant greetings cards and prints to take home.\nIn this workshop Jane will take you on a brief tour of our museum gallery, encouraging you to notice the various shapes, patterns and copious use of feathers in our collection of stained glass, old and new.\nUsing this as a starting point, you will learn how to ink up your gel plate in various colours and to the correct consistency to pull a successful print. Once this base layer is achieved, feathers and rock salt will be applied to the gel plate and a second print pulled. This will reveal the delicate forms and textures of the feathers. Further layers may be added to achieve your final design. You will have an opportunity to make your finished designs into greetings cards and prints to take home.\nFeathers and salt will be supplied but please feel free to bring various feathers of your own in many sizes and textures.\nOur adult workshops are suitable for ages 18+ and pre-booking is essential, please book online via https://stainedglassmuseum.com/whatson or by calling us on 01353 660347.
