DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Babylon Gallery for a special screening and discussion of 2022’s surprise hit, the multi-Oscar winning ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ in collaboration with Cambridge Mental Health Film Club.\nMichelle Yeoh stars as Evelyn Quan Wang, a middle-aged Chinese American laundromat owner who is swept up into a surreal adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.  ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ is a groundbreaking and refreshingly light-hearted combination of relational drama, existential metaphysics and beautifully choreographed martial arts sequences. These disparate elements connect to a central narrative around intergenerational tensions, family love and the core relationship between a mother and her daughter.\nThis screening with the Cambridge Mental Health Film Club  shares their aim to promote discussion of mental health issues and encourage interest in psychiatry/ mental health. It is open to anyone who is interested in joining us for this conversation and the issues we’ll explore.\nWe will explore the film from a relational psychotherapy perspective utilising concepts from Cognitive Analytic Therapy to unpack and explore the different representations of characters and relationships.  Before the film Dr Felix Clay will set the scene and briefly explore key concepts.  We will reconvene after the film to discuss the audiences’ thoughts and reflections.  We provide a safe environment for discussion and warmly welcome all contributions and input.\nDr Felix Clay is a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist working in Ely region.  He has special interests in Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Community Medicine and the use of technology to help support mental health. He is co-founder of the Cambridge Mental Health Film Club (which has screened over 15 films since 2017) and has research experience in the use of virtual reality to support wellbeing for people with dementia.\nAbout this screening: To create a welcoming safe space for our conversation this screening will be held in the Babylon Gallery. We will project the film digitally using our full surround sound system. As this screening takes place in the summer, the gallery will not be as dark as you would find in a cinema. The gallery has space for up to 45 people.
