Four of Ely’s leading heritage attractions have joined together in an exciting new partnership to launch the Ely Passport – a money-saving, multi-site ticket designed to help visitors make the most of their time in the city.

For just £29.50, The Ely Passport offers discounted entry to four of the city’s must-see attractions: Ely Cathedral, Ely Museum, The Stained-Glass Museum, and Oliver Cromwell’s House. With just one ticket, visitors gain access to an immersive experience of Ely’s extraordinary history, architecture, art and culture – all within a convenient 48-hour period.

The Passport has been created with both value and flexibility in mind. Whether you’re in the city for a day or a weekend, the 48-hour window allows ample time to explore each venue at your own pace, while still leaving room to enjoy Ely’s charming cafes, independent shops, riverside walks and welcoming pubs. Multiple entry to Ely Cathedral is also available, just in case you miss something and want to return during your stay.

“The Ely Passport is a fantastic way for visitors to experience the very best of our city in an easy, affordable and enjoyable way. By working together, our attractions are offering not just great value for money, but a joined-up visitor experience that encourages people to stay longer, explore more and discover everything Ely has to offer – from its heritage and culture to its shops, cafes and riverside walks.” Anna Bennett, Tourism Manager Visit Ely

The launch of the Ely Passport marks a milestone in collaborative tourism for the city. Ely Cathedral, Ely Museum, The Stained-Glass Museum and Oliver Cromwell’s House have worked closely together on the initiative, highlighting the power of partnership to enhance the visitor experience and support the local economy.

Each attraction offers a unique perspective on Ely’s rich and diverse story, from the awe-inspiring beauty of the Cathedral and the vibrant artistry of The Stained-Glass Museum to the engaging historical narratives found in Ely Museum and Oliver Cromwell’s House. Together, they provide a captivating picture of a city steeped in heritage and alive with culture.

The Ely Passport can be purchased at any of the participating attractions and is valid for 48 consecutive hours from the first use. It’s ideal for individuals, couples and families seeking a cost-effective way to discover the highlights of Ely without the hassle of multiple bookings.

Love Horrible Histories? Curious about Cromwell? Join Professor A. Bismal for a tour with a difference this half term.

Oliver Cromwell’s House will be showing families “the bits teachers are too grossed out to tell you”.

Warning: it’s not for the faint hearted!

Hot on the heels of their haunted tours of Ely, the team behind Oliver Cromwell’s House have come up with a torrid tour to amuse young and old alike.
“Professor A. Bismal is a barely known, self appointed eccentric Professor of the Unseen Arts, and a graduate of the Indivisible College (in other words we’ve made him up!).
“In his own words: “In some circles I am known as the Regent of Revolting and in others the Father of Foul. Other people call me ‘The weird bloke who likes gross history’… those people aren’t invited!
I prefer to describe myself as a Professor of Gore.
I am fascinated by the bits of history that teachers would never tell you, the bits that would make old ladies gasp in shock and the stories that would make animals, including hamsters, shiver with shock”.
Families are promised a rare chance to take a peek around Cromwell’s old haunt while learning about “the truly horrid bits” of history.
“Discover the awful origins of a favourite playground poem, be disturbed by the tales of a long dead head and its life after death and if you’re very lucky, the Professor will share his favourite recipes with you…”
Tempted?

Those that dare can book a tour from Monday, February 13, to Friday, February 17, at 2pm.
The tour is suitable for people ages six to 106 years of age.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
All tickets priced £4 per person.
Please book online by clicking here or for further information call 01353 662062.
