February Half Term Family Fun
Join us for half term fun for all the family at Wicken Fen!
We’ll have a variety of activities that you can enjoy whenever you visit over the half term break including: make a bird feeder to take home, get busy building with our natural building blocks and borrow some binoculars to spot some fen wildlife.
Complete some of our ’50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ ‘ at our ’50 things’ area in the Woodland Walk: #25 Join nature’s band, #12 have fun with sticks, #4 build a den. Collect one of our ’50 things’ wall planners from our Family Discovery Area to check which ones you’ve completed.
Make a promise for nature, write it down, and hang it in our promise gallery.
There is no charge for these activities. Please note that normal admission charges apply for non-National Trust members, NT members have free admission.
Our Learning Team will lead some guided activities to help you explore and find out more about nature and wildlife at Wicken Fen:
Winter Survival Skills – Monday 17 February, 10:30-12:30 or 13:30-15:30. Learn how to survive in the wild! How do animals survive in winter? Learn winter survival skills and take part in fun outdoor activities. £6.50 per child, accompanying adults free, no admission charge.
Wintry Wild Art – Wednesday 19 February, 10:30-12:30 or 13:30-15:30. Explore the fen, gather natural materials and create a masterpiece! £6.50 per child, accompanying adults free, no admission charge.
Geocache Challenge – Friday 21 February, 10:30-12:30 or 13:30-15:30. Are you up for a challenge? Find the new special caches on the fen, hidden for one day only! Suitable for beginner and experienced geocachers. £10 per family, no admission charge.
