Fen Speak Open Mic ft. Kaddy Benyon
With special guest poet Kaddy Benyon. Kaddy was born in Cambridge and grew up in Suffolk. She worked as a television scriptwriter for Hollyoaks & Grange Hill before having children. In 2010 she was shortlisted for the inaugural Picador Poetry Prize. In 2011 she won the Crashaw Prize with the manuscript for her debut collection, Milk Fever. In 2012 she became a Granta New Poet, an Agenda Chosen Young Poet and won 3rd prize in the Mslexia Poetry Competition. She has been Invited Poet at the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge where she wrote poems in response to Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. Kaddy works as a mentor to students with disabilities at the University of Cambridge. Her second collection, The Tidal Wife, was published by Salt last summer.
