Silver Swans Classes 7.15 – 8.15 & 8.15 – 9.30
Come along and join our friendly class
o Silver Swans classes are specially targeted at older learners
o Classes are for both novice and experienced dancers
o Although targeted at those aged over 55, there is no upper or lower age limit to be a Silver Swan
o Students at RAD HQ have ranged in age from 40s to 80s
o These classes will help improve mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels
o Most importantly, these classes are an opportunity to have fun and enjoy the sense of well being that dance brings
o Silver Swans Licensed Teachers do not follow any particular syllabus; rather, the training gives them insight into how to adapt their teaching to a diverse class of adults, information on safe practice, and inspiration as to how to keep a group of ‘swans’ engaged over time.
o To find Silver Swans Licensed Teachers and classes, you can search our interactive map at www.rad.org.uk/silverswans
Silver Swans was launched nationally on BBC Breakfast last year. The outside broadcast was live from RAD headquarters in London. This featured Angela Rippon, the Academy’s Director of Education and Training Michelle Groves, Sarah Platt (one of our founding Silver Swans Licensed Teachers) and some actual Silver Swans that have been participating in regular classes at RAD headquarters.
Throughout the broadcast, the web address www.rad.org.uk/silverswans was shown
