Ely Diabetes Awareness Fair
Ely Library – Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Event – Free health check- It’ a NO BRAINER!
Big in the news at the moment is the frightening fact that hundreds of thousands of people are walking around England with Type 2 diabetes and don’t know it. With this in mind the NHS and DiabetesUK and local Patient Participation Groups are in collaboration with Ely Library to bring diabetes awareness to Ely at their all day event on World Diabetes Day Thursday 14th November.
The event is aimed at folks who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, or have it but don’t know it, and those who have it but need advice on how to live with it better. It’s all about folks looking after themselves to avoid preventable ill health.
The event will run from 0930am to 4.00pm at Ely Library on Thursday 14th November. Any one can call in and get a free heath check and find their risk of Type 2 diabetes or get advice on improving their general health. On hand will be experts from the National Diabetes Prevention Programme, the Diabetes eye screening service, foot care specialists, community diabetes specialist nurses and more. Not to be missed!
