Exhibition: Pictarama at Babylon Gallery
Pictarama is one half of our Christmas Exhibition, which also includes prints from Goldmark by Edwardo Paolozzi. All works are for sale.
Sara started making framed Lego dioramas in 2013 as birthday presents for family and friends. The more she made, the more ideas kept coming. Sara hoped that other people would like these quirky scenes as much as she did, so decided to share them with the world.
Sara creates little still-life scenes using Lego then glues the scene into box frames making unique framed Lego pictures and dioramas. Lego is such a brilliant toy, sparking imaginations around the world – and so when inspiration strikes, she likes to capture it forever. An idea is born and the required Lego pieces are diligently sourced to create scenes that are then carefully bonded and encased in a frame. Like snowflakes, you’ll never see the same one twice.
Each diorama is unique: Occasionally there may be variations on a popular theme, but each one will be different.
Both new and played with Lego pieces are used, depending on what can be sourced; some pieces are even custom printed, rare, vintage or collectable!
