An evening of presentations and discussion around athletic performance in endurance brought to you by Fortis Fitness & Performance
Fortis Fitness & Performance bring you three exciting talks to help you formulate your plans for the coming season. There will be 3 speakers followed by a Q&A session where you can ask any questions you may have of our panel of experts. Come along from 7pm.
7.30pm – Don’t Just Dream It…
Michelle, from Psychology to Succeed, will kick off the evening with a talk aimed at not only setting next season’s goals, but enhancing your commitment to them. Knowing the human mind as she does, she’ll make sure you leave with a few tools to help when common obstacles show up along the way.
Michelle is an NLP Sports Practitioner and accredited CBT and EMDR therapist, as well as an Occupational Therapist and committed runner. She has worked in a range of mental health settings since 2002 and now splits her time between the NHS and Psychology to Succeed, where she specialises in working with athletes and people with achievement focused goals. Her mission is to help train peoples’ minds so they can be at their best.
8.15pm – Robust & Resilient
Paul, from Fortis Fitness and Performance, introduces the concept of building robust athletes with a look at what factors contribute to peak performance. With a strong focus on Strength & Conditioning, he’ll make sure you are focussed on where improvements can be made in the short and longer term.
Paul is a Sports Science graduate, a British Triathlon High Performance Coach, a Certified Exercise Practitioner with the British Association of Sports and Exercise Science (BASES) and recognised as an Advanced Coach Practitioner by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). He is a Youth Strength & Conditioning Association Coach. He is currently studying for a Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning at UCLan. He has completed numerous Ironman triathlons, a double ironman, Breca and the NorseMan extreme ironman.
9pm – Pressing the Launch Button with IronTarsh
Tarsh Wendt, is a 13 time iron distance Triathlete, the founder of UK based women’s specific swim/cycle/Triathlon brand, Stomp the Pedal, and recently launched her own podcast, Tarsh Talks. She is here this evening to share with you her experience in training for Ironman, whilst working full time and running her brand on the side.
