The Library Presents – SpyNet
An interactive exhibition that uncovers the secrets of past and present surveillance operations.
30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the U2 Spy planes no longer
fly from the Cambridgeshire military bases but cyber espionage
and surveillance is everywhere. The Internet, Drones, GPS, Digital
New International Theatre Company (NIE) and The Norris Museum have undertaken a six month project that reveals the secret histories of the ‘80s Cold War and how the military technologies are now part of civilian life. Inspect the photos, film and documents collected as
part of the project and take part in a unique audio experience that
will reveal the deeper layers of the surveillance world in which we
live. The headphone experience will run throughout the day and
will last approximately 25 minutes (you can take part on your own or
in a small group).
