Role • Greeting customers, attentive to customer needs

  • Order taking – operating till and card payment
  • Taking food to customers and ensuring smooth and efficient customer experience
  • Preparing tea and coffee (coffee training will be provided by ourselves/coffee supplier)
  • Serving and presentation of food (all food is cooked off site & training will be provided for the serving & presentation of all items) – menu changes on a monthly basis
  • After training & sign off – Assistant will be responsible for setting up Café at beginning of day & the heating & preparing of food for Brunch and Lunch Service.
  • Clearing away used crockery and wiping down tables (as soon as vacated)
  • Sweeping floors, cleaning when and where required, bins emptied & all surfaces kept clean
  • Filling/emptying dishwasher – handwashing/drying when required.
  • Completing any start of day/end of day tasks (checklist)

Support for a 92 year old lady with a recent diagnosis of dementia in Witchford.

Supporting this lady to get washed, changed and ready for bed, making a warm drink and ensuring that she has taken her medication and is comfortable for the night.

1 hour in the evening preferably around 7.30pm – 9.00pm Monday – Friday £13 per hour.

You will have some experience of supporting people with personal care, you will need to be encouraging and possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.

Lettings Manager

A 20 year established East Anglian property company has a very rare and unique opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their lettings management career.

The Aitus Group owns a large private investment portfolio of both residential and commercial assets and requires an experienced Lettings Manager to run the residential property team from the offices in Ely.  This is an unusual lettings position as the entire portfolio is owned by a single landlord. Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Assisting with new business generation
  • Managing the existing lettings team (currently 3 staff plus accounts)
  • Reporting timely KPI and Metrics to the Director and other Boardmembers
  • Progress the existing systems and processes as the business grows

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting Key KPI and Metrics to the Director and Boardmembers
  • Some basic preparation of financial data in line with company accountant and finance staff

  • Covering for team members when on holiday or absent
  • Managing tight budgets
  • Credit control through to court appearance
  • Project managing small to medium projects within the properties

The ideal candidate must:

  • Used to working in a lettings department and be flexible with occasional evening and weekend work
  • Able to lead and manage a small team in a growth environment
  • Able to work and set self-priorities and tasks without supervision
  • Have a high standard of organization and attention to detail
  • Be comfortable attending properties on their own within an hour’s drive of Ely if needed
  • Have good written and verbal English communication skills

As Car Park Warden, you will assist with the enforcement of the Council’s Off-Street parking Places Order by patrolling the District’s car parks, maintaining accurate pocket book entries and issuing fixed penalty parking tickets, when appropriate.

Housing Options Team Leader

The Council is focused on the prevention of homelessness and community safety and the focus of the post holder will be to establish strong positive relationships with private sector landlords and letting agents across Cambridgeshire. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the line management of Housing Options Officers and will take a proactive and customer focused approach to preventing homelessness. You will ensure the provision of advice and assistance to homeless households or those threatened with homelessness achieves a reduction in the number of cases homelessness in the district.

You will work together with the overall Housing Team to ensure delivery of The Council’s Homelessness Strategy and other associated strategies.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • managing Housing Options and Tenancy Support Officers, carrying out 1-1’s, file audits and appraisals
  • managing a caseload of complex housing advice cases
  • carrying out full advice and assistance interviews with homeless applicants
  • working with partners, other services and the Housing Options Manager to develop an efficient housing options service and to develop housing options

You will have experience of working in a customer focused environment where you have provided advice and guidance both face to face and over the telephone, have strong interpersonal, organisational and influencing skills and be able to communicate confidently with different client groups.

The start date for the successful candidate is 1st March 2019, for a period of 10 months.

Lettings Negotiator

A growing East Anglian property company seeks a new recruit to join the property team in a junior role with scope to grow and move through the company as it expands.

The Aitus Group owns a large private portfolio of both residential and commercial assets and require a lettings negotiator to assist us in finding tenants and managing this portfolio under the supervision of the residential property management staff.  Due to the small size of the team, this will encompass many different tasks, but the potential to grow and expand long-term with the business exists for the right candidate. People who support me well tend to be calm, patient, consistent, stick to the plan and will always the truth.

Healthy eating and exercise play a vital part in my life so being able to cook is crucial.

I get really worried about having new staff, I can take some time to be myself but if you hang in there, we will definitely have some good times.

I’m looking for a couple of people who could do between 16 – 40 hrs a week and are happy to sleep in. If you wanted a full time contract you could support me for part of your hours and support other people in Ely area or Milton area.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Conservation Officer to join the Planning Team within East Cambridgeshire District Council, which is embarking on a period of growth, with a positive and pro-active approach to development. There are 26 conservation areas, 49 Scheduled Monuments and over 900 listed buildings in the District as well as an adopted Building of Local Interest Register and 4 designated historic parks and gardens. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the development management officers on applications affecting these designated heritage assets with the ability to balance the need for development with the statutory duty of preserving and enhancing the built heritage of the District.

Your duties will include:

  • Delivering an effective and efficient conservation service;
  • Preparation and review of Conservation Area Appraisals and management plans;
  • Review and proactive maintenance of Buildings of Interest and Buildings at Risk Registers;
  • Responding to planning application consultations;
  • Providing timely, expert and impartial advice to other departments within the Council, agencies, developers and councillors;
  • Processing a caseload of listed building applications;
  • Undertaking site inspections and providing detailed and pragmatic advice on the historic environment;
  • Producing clear and concise reports and making presentations to Committee when required.  

Applicants should have a recognised degree/post graduate qualification in Historic Building Conservation or other relevant discipline as well as specialist knowledge of traditional building techniques, materials and conservation methods for repair are essential. An understanding of historic building design, construction, architectural history and conservation legislation and policy will also be essential. Excellent and verbal communication, effective time management and a sound working knowledge of traditional Membership of a recognised professional body such as the IHBC would also be desirable. Private Landlord Liaison Officer

The Council is focused on the prevention of homelessness and community safety and the focus of the post holder will be to establish strong positive relationships with private sector landlords and letting agents across Cambridgeshire. The post holder will assist clients to secure private sector housing whilst providing landlords with a single point of contact for advice and guidance on a range of tenancy related matters via a free landlords resolution service.

Duties will include creating and maintaining a database of landlords/properties, arranging and organising landlord forums, acting as the Council’s contact for issues such as landlord/tenant mediation and advice on notice and possession proceedings, liaising with external agencies to ensure timely processing of housing benefit applications and eligibility/entitlement and with internal colleagues regarding tenancy support for clients or in respect of other housing related matters, such as repairs, houses of multiple occupation and/or illegal evictions.
