The 10is Academy 16U Girls’ tennis team’s chase for the National League title continues with a tight win against Cambridge Tennis Academy this Sunday.
“This has been a strange year for everyone and be one match away from winning the league is something positive we could remember” 10is Academy coach Sebastien Scaux said. “We have one more match against Cambridge Tennis Academy and after the first match, it is clear that they have as much right as us to claim the title. That last match is going to be a great battle!”
10is Academy completed the sweep with wins for their player number 1 Georgia Shields in both singles (6/1 4/6 10/5) and doubles matches 6/3 6/2.
The match of the day saw Ciara Comley lose a very disputed match in two long sets 7/6 (6/8) 4/6. Ciara’s defeat did not hindered her performance as she partnered Georgia in the winning doubles, giving another great performance.
“Ciara really played well. It was a great match,” Scaux said. “She fought for every point.”
New comer Tru Dymble lost in two sets (3/6 4/6) but showed why she earned a place in the team.
“Tru is as good a third singles player as I’ve ever seen,” Scaux said. The final score was 8-4 for 10is Academy.
