The 12 and Under (12u) boys from 10is Academy secured second place in the National League Division 1 table with a win at Cambridge Tennis Academy in a 5 rubbers to 1 victory on the final day of the season.
10is Academy’s 12u had had a tough match last week being down 3 rubbers to 0 at the half way point, but this time, there was no repeat of last week’s drama. On the contrary, 10is Academy took a quick lead with victories in the singles rubber for Alex (6/7 6/3 10/4) and Jeremy (6/0 6/3) and for Alexander paired with William in the doubles (6/4 6/3).
10is Academy stayed in front after the break when William won his rubber 6/4 6/2 and Alex paired with Jeremy sailed to a 6/3 6/0 victory.
Cambridge Tennis Academy had claimed one rubber through when Alexander was defeated 6/1 6/3.
‘Our players went into the game knowing they needed a win to finish second and they delivered.’ said Sebastien Scaux, 10is Academy’s director. ‘
In the Mixed adult Cambridge league 10is Academy started slowly with a draw against St Neots for the 1st team and a home defeat for the 2nd team.
Next home match will be on Saturday with the 2nd team welcoming Great Shelford TC while the 1st team will play away at Gransden.
