You may have heard of Field promotions but how about an Airfield promotion?
Senior Cadet Jake Bausor is currently attending his Silver Gliding Scholarship course at RAF Syerston where the RAF Air Cadet Glider Pilot Instructors of 644 Volunteer Gliding Squadron have been teaching Jake how to fly the RAF’s Viking Gliders. The ultimate goal of the course is for Jake to fly solo.
In the photo 1094 Squadron ‘s Officer In Charge Flying Officer J Donoghue can be seen presenting Jake with his Corporal Stripes on the runway at RAF Syerston (Hence the lack of headgear) .
