Air Cadet Squadron Opens it's Doors

Young men and women from Ely and the surrounding area will have the chance to find out about some of the exciting activities that the can take part in when Ely Air Cadet Squadron opens its doors on Wednesday 28th January.
The Squadron, which this year is celebrating 50 years since it reformed, normally meets on Monday and Thursday evenings and offers activities such as flying, gliding, sports and adventure training to young people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Ely Cadet
Flying Officer David Williams, the Squadron’s Training Officer, said “The open evening gives young people who are interested in the Air Cadets a great chance to find out what activities we offer, meet our current cadets and ask any questions they have. It also gives their parents and guardians a chance to speak to the Squadron’s volunteers and find out more about how the Air Cadets can help build skills that will be useful in all walks of life”.
A recent change in the age that cadets can join the Squadron from 13 to all those who are in Year 8 at school has opened up the Air Cadets to many more young people.
The open evening will take place at the Squadron Headquarters in Heaton Drive on Wednesday 28th January, starting at 7.45pm (https://www.spottedinely.com/event/squadron-open-evening-2/).
