Last weekend, Scouts from across Cambridgeshire came together at Mepal Outdoor Centre for 24 hours and 6 minutes of non-stop activities. Three troops from Ely district attended, making up more than 20% of the total Scouts there.
Activities even ran throughout the night and included air rifle shooting, climbing, high ropes, volleyball, a zip line, and an inflatable obstacle course. After dark the Scouts even took part in night time archery and laser paintballing.
At 2am, Wayne from the Witchford troop ran a party on the beach, which was enjoyed by Scouts and Leaders alike. Many Scouts accepted the challenge not to go to sleep for the full 24.1 hours and a few succeeded!
Assistant District Commissioner Caroline Spaxman said “The Scouts themselves were a pleasure to have for the weekend and a credit to their troops”.
