As part of The Unfamiliar Bazaar, an event designed to be a quirky, family friendly day of joy at The Maltings in Ely, Amber Ankh Events is thrilled to be working with Mia Hansson to bring her incredible historically accurate recreation of the famous Bayeux Tapestry to Ely on the 15th August 2021!
Amber Ankh Events is thrilled to work with Mia, who has spent the past 5 years recreating the tapestry, using her historical seamstress skills developed over her years in Historical Re-Enactment. This incredible project has led to various other projects including a hugely popular ‘Bayeux Tapestry Colouring Book’ which was launched with Eyrie Press to a rapturous response. Mia has even appeared in The Telegraph with her recreation.
Mia will be bringing around 18 foot of the tapestry to display, only a fraction of the fabulous project! She will also be bringing a range of hand crafted historical outfits and other wonderful Bayeux related items.
Beyond the beautiful Bayeux Tapestry recreation, The Unfamiliar Bazaar is offering a wide range of traders, acitvities and more – With local crafts people, a Victorian Photo Studio, A Mad-cap Professor of Gore and Grime talking about Fenland Folklore there is going to be something for everyone at this quirky event.
This event is free – the event is being put on for everyone, with a range of activities and such but no entry price – there will be options to ‘Pay as You Feel’ should you wish.
