80 strong Welsh choir and Household Cavalry Band come together in Ely Cathedral this December

My name is Peter Battlershill and in December I am proud to be bringing the 80 strong Morriston Orpheus Choir and the Band of the Household Cavalry to Ely.

My association with The Band of the Household Cavalry is an unlikely one but stems through golf and after paying my respects to the fallen at the Cenotaph in Whitehall on Remembrance Sunday.
From these regular encounters, a friendship developed with many of the serving officers and players in the newly formed Household Cavalry Band. I learnt that the band do not get much opportunity to perform in concert outside their ceremonial duties. To this end, I pledged to myself too pioneer a very special concert in support of The Household Cavalry Foundation, such a worthy cause.
On Friday 8th December 2017 in Ely Cathedral at 19.30 the public will have the unique opportunity to hear this fine military band and the Morriston Orpheus Choir, probably one of the top and famous male voice choirs in the country, along with organist James Banville all hosted by the well known broadcaster ALAN DEDICOAT the voice of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and ‘National Lottery’.
The event is entitled ‘Through Music We Care’ – A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT and tickets will go on sale from the 14th September.
Demand for tickets is likely to be high so please book early through the Cathedral Box Office on 01353 660349
