We’re hosting our annual “Art in Wood” exhibition & sale from 18 – 27 August at the Cathedral Centre (opposite the beautiful Ely Cathedral) – CB7 4EW. Entrance is free, so do pop in and see what it’s all about. Our members will be submitting lots of their pieces and giving the public a chance to see the versatility of our craft.
The Ely Guild of Woodturners exists to enable amateurs and professionals to further the cause of woodturning and to preserve this beautiful ancient craft.
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at the Village Hall in Little Thetford, starting at 7pm (we offer a beginners’ instruction from 6pm). Meetings usually consist of a demonstration by a visiting expert and we even squeeze in a raffle, chat and a cup of tea!
Anyone is welcome to attend two or three meetings as a guest before committing themselves to membership, which is currently just £30 per annum.
The Guild offers a warm reception to anyone who fancies turning up and seeing what woodturning is all about. So do come along and take a peek.
