Becky Scores for Ladies Cricket in Ely

This week, we surprised a lovely local Ely Lady with a very well deserved Spotted in Ely Community Star Award.

Becky Case-Upton has worked tirelessly to set up and promote Girls and Ladies Cricket at the City of Ely Cricket Club. She organises, coaches and plays. She’s given so many more players the opportunity to enjoy the game as a direct result of her efforts. In just two seasons, she’s taken the Ladies from no players to a full Team, playing in the local leagues.

Becky has been a driving force in setting up Ladies and Girls Cricket at Ely. She’s currently also coaching Boy’s and Girls at very early ages called the Dynamo and All Stars.
She also coaches U11 Girls and manages the Ladies who now have Soft and Hardball Teams competing in the Cambridgeshire leagues and if that’s not enough, she also Coaches the U9 Boys.

The person who nominated her wanted to recognise her volunteering on a huge scale to promote Cricket and particularly build female teams at Ely Cricket Club.

Spotted in Ely couldn’t let this fantastic community work go unnoticed! So, on Thursday evening, between coaching sessions, we dropped in to surprise Becky with her very own Community Star Award!

Congratulations, Becky, and Thank You for everything you do for our community.

With thanks to Truth HR Solutions for sponsoring this award and as always a special thanks goes to Well Heeled of Ely, for their engraving skills.
