Less than two weeks to go before our big event (Feb 13th during the half term) and we are busy preparing for the day’s activities.
Brand new to East Cambridgeshire, we wanted to showcase the Repair Café running at the basement of the Conference Centre. Expert repairers will be on site to help people fix those items they’d rather not throw away! Ever had an electrical appliance that you aren’t sure what’s wrong with but don’t want to take to the HRC yet? Got a bike that needs fixing or some old clothes you’d like repaired rather than condemning? Maybe you have some household items you’d rather make use of than discard.
Bring them to the repair café and our team will do their best to fix them for you. Have a coffee and tea while chatting to our repairers and maybe even learn how to fix the items yourself! Promoting reuse and repair, this is a great opportunity for you to breathe life into imperfect items from your home.
The repair cafe is free (although donations are welcome!) but booking is recommended to make sure you get some time with one of our fab volunteers!
Please drop us an email at wasteeducation@amey.co.uk to book a time slot or drop us a line to find out more about this extremely popular new activity which is gathering pace internationally!
