One of East Cambridgeshire’s top performing pre-schools has rare spaces for the next academic year.
Rainbow Pre-School, graded ‘Outstanding’ in all 17 areas after its last Ofsted inspection in January, has places for its Tigers group, aimed at children turning four during the next academic year.
Manager Debbie Reed said: “People assume Rainbow’s waiting lists are always very long and so don’t put their child’s name down.
“In fact, although we do often have long lists, there are spaces for Tigers this year.”
Rainbow does not mix up year groups, so children receive an age related education.
Each week they cover different topics, with a rich variety of activities for youngsters to take part in.
The new places are for September, with Tigers sessions running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12.15pm to 2.45pm and on Tuesday and Thursday from 11.45am to 2.45pm, including lunch club.
Spaces are government funded for children over three and the ratio for Tigers – the oldest group at Rainbow – is one teacher to eight children.
This week the committee run pre-school on Downham Road, Ely, received a new mud kitchen, much to the delight of its children.
