On the 7th December, Cambridgeshire Volunteer Bikers will be starting out on the first of three runs, visiting local care homes. They’ll be bringing joy, laughter, mince pies and Christmas merriment to hundreds of Cambridgeshires elder folks in what will be their 9th successive year.
Started in 2017 after one of their members visited his mum whilst dressed as Father Christmas in a local home, the events run over 3 Sundays in December and attracts more riders each year. The first 2 Sundays are dedicated to care homes and respite centres whilst the 3rd Sunday sees them visiting A&E depts, ambulance and fire stations throughout Cambridgeshire.
They will be visiting The Orchards, Lily House, Vera James House in Ely, Laburnum Lodge in Littleport & Soham Lodge Care Home in Soham. They will also be stopping off at Waitrose and Tesco in Ely to thank them for donating to our cause, now in it’s 9th consecutive year.
You can follow their progress at the Facebook page, Cambridgeshire Volunteer Bikers. Give them a wave if you see them.
