City of Ely Amateur Swimming Club Member Oliver Davey was invited to Swim England Nationals as one of the top competitors in the 50m Freestyle in the 14-year-old age group.
This was the first time at nationals for Oli and he swam brilliantly in the heats to achieve a personal best time of 25.77 which earned him a place in the final. Going into the finals he was in 8th qualifying position and after another great swim, he finished 7th.
This was the first time for many years that the club had a swimmer competing at Swim England nationals.
Congratulations to Oli! Hopefully this is the first of many!
