For 12 years, Ely Cathedral and a wonderful group of volunteers have been providing a Christmas Day lunch.
This Christmas we are extending the project to cover three venues in the City: The Almonry , The Lighthouse and The Countess Free Church, as well as home delivery or collection
The Christmas Lunch is being co-ordinated by the same team working as the new Charity, Ely Community Lunches.
Tickets will go on sale in November and, as before; it will be possible to support this initiative by donating £10 to enable someone in need of food, company, or both to be able to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch with all the festive trimmings.
Tickets for the lunch will go on sale in November at £10 per adult £5 for under 16s
and free to those who need it to be free.
Those wishing to apply to join the volunteer team are asked to visit a new web site which is in the process of being built and complete a volunteer application form not later than 1 November so that we have time to process DBS checks and provide the necessary training. Paper copies will be available from The Lighthouse or the Cathedral Chapter House at the same time. Visit our website here
Thank you.
But do be aware we will need to do DBS checks and provide training if it is appropriate for your role!
Join us as we go forward into exciting times!
Best wishes James, Giles, Tabatha, Dave and Sallyann
