An excellent swim at the regional open water competition saw seventeen-year-old Daniel Kendall qualify for the National Age Group Open Water Swimming Championship for the first time.
This event was held on Saturday 29th July 2023 at Rother Valley Country Park, Sheffield, where Daniel swam in the 5km race. It was a cool and windy day with a water temperature of 18 C, therefore wetsuits were not allowed. Daniel swam strongly, improving the time he swam only 3 weeks previously at the Swim England East Region Open Water qualifying event, he achieved an impressive 9th in the 17 year old age group.
Congratulations to Daniel on his excellent swim and for representing the club at national level.
