A large team of fifty one City of Ely Amateur Swimming Club athletes, ranging in age from 9 to 61, attended the Newmarket Sprint Meet on Sunday 2nd July 2023.
They achieved Top Team at the meet, from the combined points of all the swimmers who competed. Everyone had a very successful meet and in total, there were 40 gold, 32 silver and 23 bronze medals with 109 personal best times for the team.
Our top five performers won all five of their races and shared the Top Boys/Girls award across the meet – they were Peony Jackson (age 9), Jorja Atkinson (age 11), Tia Hill (age 16); Jacob Schultz (age 11), and Cillian O’Brien (age 15).
