COME AND HAVE A GO DAY 2016

Want to find out about the role of the modern Fire and Rescue Service?
Want to talk to our staff about their jobs and the working environment?
Want to try some of the physical activities a firefighter needs to be able to do?
Women can have a go at firefighting activities as part of a myth-busting event to demonstrate what it takes to be a modern firefighter.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is running Have A Go events on January 29 and 30, to encourage under-represented groups, including women, to consider firefighting as a career.
People from under-represented groups can try out some of the activities that will need to be completed to become a firefighter, meet those who do the job and look at some of the equipment used in the role.
The events will be in Huntingdon and will be split into two sessions – 9am until noon or 1pm until 4pm, with the sessions listed below:
Friday, January 29 2016
AM (women only)
PM (general public)
Saturday, January 30 2016
AM (general public)
PM (women only)
You will be required to complete a medical questionnaire (to ensure you are not endangering yourself by taking part in the activities) electronically and for it to be returned before Wednesday 13 January at 12 noon. You will also be required to complete a sizing form before Wednesday 13 January at 12 noon, this is to ensure the personal protective equipment you will wear on the day, fits you appropriately.
