The countdown to Beadfest begins!

The countdown has begun to Haddenham’s first ever bead festival – and unlike other festivals, it’s totally free to attend, with free tutorials promised on a first come, first served basis.
People are invited to wear their wellies – whatever the weather – for Bead Festival this Saturday (May 21), with each welly-wearer promised a free gift with their shopping.
“There’ll also be a prize for the whackiest wellies,” says Beadfest host Juliet Browse, of world-famous Spoilt Rotten Beads.
“We thought everyone’s having festivals – so why not have our own? We have customers all over and wanted to celebrate and do something a bit different.”
A bedouin tent will be set up on the village green, offering free workshops on a first come, first served basis.

These will include making a fishtail macrame wrap, festival necklaces and tassel making.
There will also be paid workshops, which have to be booked in advance.
Spoilt Rotten Beads will be open as normal, selling special kits and packs to go with tutorials as well as the normal Aladdin’s cave of beady delights.

Minty, the shop’s iconic bead bus, which has been lovingly restored by Juliet’s husband Stuart, will set up camp on The Green throughout the day, Juliet says.
“People will be able to visit Minty and have a henna tattoo to get into the festival spirit.”
Bead fanatics from far and wide are planning to attend – but for those who can’t make it to Haddenham, the crew at Spoilt Rotten Beads are planning to stream video tutorials.
There will be prizes given out throughout the day on the store’s Facebook page and on their website, as well as videos uploaded onto Twitter.
Juliet says: “We have customers who can’t visit us so we didn’t want to leave them out.”
Donations will be collected throughout the day towards Haddenham First Responders.
