Zahid, restaurant owner of Sylhet on Market Street in Ely has announced that he is to have a curry night for charity on March 21st.
The benefactors to the night will be Spotted in Ely’s own charity of the year, Ely Community First Responders and alongside the sales of calendars we did at new year, hope that with the curry night, we can raise enough to buy a much needed new mobile defibrillator plus other kit they carry with them on duty.
The First Responders are a highly trained group of individuals who are available 7 days a week and aid the Ambulance service in saving lives of local people. They receive no payment or even any expenses for their efforts in and around Ely.
To book a table for the Curry Night call 01353 669 669 during the opening hours of the restaurant. It costs just £20 for a 3 course meal (drinks not included) and there will be 2 sittings at 5:30 and 8pm. Several seats have already been sold, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Zahid has also announced that extra fund-raising activity will be available for those who cannot attend. You can buy a new Sylhet Take-Away cloth bag for a donation (£5 recommended) from the restaurant.
