“This weekend ten of our cadets from Ely Squadron were given the opportunity to attend a bronze first aid course at 104 Squadron Cambridge

The cadets were taught how to help people with:
Asthma
Hypothermia
Bites and stings
Low blood sugar
Bleeding (minor)
Electric shock
Poisons
Bleeding and shock
Fainting
Bone, muscle and joint injuries
Burns and scalds
Foreign objects
Resuscitation
Chest pains
Head injuries
Seizures
Choking
Heat exhaustion
Severe allergic reactions

“All the cadets on this course were very positive towards the learning and application of their new skills and well done to everyone for passing their assessments. I would highly recommend attending a first aid course to anyone looking to further their skillset, you never know when you might need to come to someones aid wether a member of your family or a member of the public.”

“On behalf of those cadets present from Ely Squadron I would like to express our gratitude towards all our instructors from our sister Squadron’s in the Eastern Sector of our Wing – Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing ATC – for giving up their whole weekend to train us. I’d also like to thank 104 (City of Cambridge) Squadron for allowing us to use their Squadron Headquarters. As ever we really enjoyed meeting cadets from other Squadrons and we had an enjoyable weekend as well as learning so much from helping each other on the course”

Thank you Corporal Deal, those smiles say it all.

Well done to all these cadets for being willing to step in when needed, Cadets
Declan Craig, Holly Elstow, Harry Ewan, Odhran Grant, Elliot Mason, Niall Pymont, Theo Scott, Monasch Tsui, Harry Wick, and Corporal Noah Deal. The uniform you see our cadets wearing is our “greens” uniform which we use for activities such as first aid training where we have to get down on the ground to assess and treat casualties.
