Ely Cadets have taken off once again

Whilst lockdown may have temporarily suspended all face to face Air Cadet Activities, our cadets and staff member’s love of aviation hasn’t been diminished in the slightest.

With the Goverment restrictions on private flying lifted our cadets have taken off once again (privately of course)

Here you can see photos of First Class Cadet Oliver Bennet flying a helicopter with his Godfather, and Cadet Warrant Officer Rory Donoghue and our Squadron Officer In Charge Flying Officer Donoghue all flying in their family “bubbles”.

Olly flew with his Godfather putting into practice the lessons in Airmanship, Principles of Flight and Navigation that he has been learning online with his fellow Leading Cadet Candidates in weekly Virtual Parade Night Classes delivered by teams of RAFAC Staff via secure online platforms.

CWO Donoghue may have completed his own Classification training but as the lead in The Squadron Cadet Instructors Team he still enjoys putting his skills to the test.

(All those in these photos are in joint family “bubbles” in line with Goverment COVID19 guidance and are taking part in private flying and not Air Cadet Activities)

1094 (Ely) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets are accepting expressions of interest now for both new recruits as cadets and adult volunteers in preparation for the return to full cadet activities in the future:
