Ely Cadets RAF Henlow Summer Camp August 2021

RAF Henlow Summer Camp August 2021, here is a report from Ely Squadron’s Corporal Polly Nickless:

“Last week Cadet Coleman and I attended RAF Henlow Summer Camp in Bedfordshire. It was great camp with a vast array of activities.

These included section visits to the RAF police dogs and The Centre for Aviation Medicine. At the medical centre we participated in many activities and learnt lots about environmental health, which I found very interesting.

We also got to visit to other bases, firstly RAF Halton where we tried high ropes which was really fun! Secondly RAF Chicksands, where we learnt about the history of the base and visited the Intelligence museum.

As well as regular sports nights we also completed a 10 mile walk around Grafham water, which was a great opportunity for getting to know one another.

High lights for me included getting to know other cadets from Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, as well as Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Also, the museum visits.

Below are some photos from a visit to the Royal Air Force museum in London and other places.

I would definitely recommend this camp to everyone due to the many opportunities on offer.”
