As you would of noticed, the bunting is slowly being replaced by our wonderful display of Christmas lights.
The work takes place every Saturday, by Volunteers and City of Ely Estates Team, and Councillors. This year they are really special as we have new lights to shine on our community and a small event to celebrate.

Sunday, November 28th from 11- 4pm, the Visit Ely Team are holding a ‘Christmas Shopping Day’ to celebrate all our wonderful independent businesses and charities that we are so lucky to have in Ely. The day commences at 11am with stalls inside Oliver Cromwell’s House, and outside on St Mary’s Green. Entrance is free, so come and browse and support your local High Street!
Pick up a ‘Christmas Light’s trail’, wander round, admire the festive illuminations and the fabulous shops. Each and every shop on the trail has a special offer, or giveaway, just in time for the festive period. Spotted in Ely Radio will be there playing carols and from 1-2pm, the City of Ely Military Band will be playing around the beacon on St Mary’s Green all the Christmas favourites.
Anna Bennett ‘Tourism and Town Centre Manager’ said “We are delighted to be able to support our Town Centre by offering this very special day, and to celebrate and thank our wonderful volunteer team who work tirelessly for weeks making Ely look truly spectacular”
