Not to be outdone by the success of the youngsters in the recent County Championships, the Masters squad of City of Ely Swimming Club competed at the West Suffolk Masters Swimming meet at Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 26th February 2023.
Top performer for Ely was Barry Schultz with 6 gold medals in the men’s 40-44 age group. Also winning gold medals were Martyn Fresher with 4 in the men’s 60-64 age group, Lou Barker with 3 in the women’s 45-49 age group, Phil Trelford with 2 in the men’s 50-54 age group and Mark Banwell with 1 in the men’s 60-64 age group.
The squad also won 9 silver and bronze medals between them.
