Last weekend, twenty four swimmers from City of Ely ASC attended the City of Norwich short course Meet on 19th and 20th November at the UEA Sportspark.
It was a great competition with the club finishing with 65 medals and 3rd overall in the team competition from the points earned by all members of the team.
In the overall top boy and girl competitions, tremendous swimming over a wide range of events saw Jorja Atkinson claim top girl overall with Megan Clarke 3rd and Ely boys had a clean sweep with Oliver Fuller 1st, Oli Davey 2nd and Josh Black 3rd.– Congratulations!.
A number of swimmers achieved an impressive medal haul with the following results Jorja Atkinson 4 Gold, 6 silver, 4 bronze; Josh Black 4 Gold, 6 silver; Oliver Fuller 3 Gold, 6 silver, 4 bronze; Megan Clarke 2 Gold, 1 bronze; Cillian O’Brien 1 Gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze; Oli Davey 4 silver, 2 bronze; Tia Hill 3 Silver, 1 Bronze; Daniel Kendall 2 silver, 3 bronze; Gabriel Kim 2 Silver, Annabelle Smith 1 Bronze; William Clarke 1 Bronze and James Clarke 1 Bronze. All also achieving new personal best times and some new county times.
Also attending and swimming personal best times were Lauren Turnock, Maddie Pillow, Bella Pillow, Stephanie Birkwood, Emily Barnes, Adam Jones, Tom Ryan, Immy Ryan, Toby Griffin, Nathan Okoro, Alexander New, Jake Challenger. It was a great competition from all the swimmers.
