Christina Alden and Alex Patterson supported by Erin Brown and Barry Watson

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters from Norwich. Their music is rich with intertwining harmony, sensitive accomplished musicianship and a creative song-writing style that is both delicate and moving. Deeply inspired by the world around them, they have a keen environmental eye to craft stories with the natural world at its heart, reflecting on the relationship between humans and the wild. They have enjoyed touring extensively in the UK and Europe; including a twentythree-date concert hall tour with Show of Hands (including Union Chapel and St Davidโ€™s Hall Cardiff), a show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Celtic Connections, headline and main stage performances at some of the UKโ€™s most prestigious folk festivals and performances in Norway, Belgium, France and Ireland. They have written and self-released four albums, composed music for a BBC Radio 4 documentary series and have had over a million streams on Spotify.
The evening will start with a set from Erin Brown and Barry Watson. As a new, exciting side project to complement their work with the popular Stumpy Oak ceilidh band, just-North-of-Ely residents Erin Brown and Barry Watson offer lively renditions of traditional folk music featuring vocals, fiddle, stomp box and accordion (plus occasional appearances from whistles and bouzouki). Songs and tunes are taken from England, Ireland, Scotland and further afield, but the accompaniment is typically stompy and English, with the odd syncopated Breton rhythm thrown in for good measure.
Doors open at 19:00, music starts at 19:30. Tickets cost ยฃ12 if booked onlineย https://www.tickettailor.com/events/elyfolkclub/1063522ย or ยฃ13 on the door.

The event is finished.
