Crochet Workshop at Ely Museum
Join us this September for a crochet workshop with the artist Sophie Neville
Learn how to crochet and create something beautiful to take home and cherish.
This traditional skill, which emerged in 19th Century Europe, uses a crochet hook to interlock loops of yarn or thread to create a everything from wearable to household items. From chain to slip stitches, singles and doubles, learn more about the different types of crochet stitch available.
Crochet is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, valued for its relaxing, meditative nature, alongside the ability to create bold, unique and customisable pieces. The โunpluggedโ nature of crochet, combined with the opportunity to upcycle, reuse and reinvent garments appeals to many.
Taught in a small group, this workshop is ideal for both complete novices and for those with more experience under their belts.
By the end of the session you will have crocheted a pinwheel badge to wear. You will also take away the skills and knowledge to make more at home.
Tickets, which include all the materials and tools you will need, are priced at ยฃ20. Booking can be in person at the museum, via the online link or call 01353 666655
