Diversity Day
Good Things Come in Three’s!
Diversity Tennis, the Ely based inclusive tennis provider, is launching its third annual Diversity Tennis Day at The Hive Leisure Centre on Saturday 5th July. Supported and sponsored by: The Hive Leisure Centre, Daniel Lawrence Plumbing & Electrical, and Cambs LTA. The 2 hour open session, from 1.30pm-3.30pm, highlights some of the things we do in inclusive tennis, and lets you try it for yourself.
Last year, VI (Visually impaired) Tennis, sensory tennis, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) tennis, wheelchair tennis, and Walking Tennis, were all played and enjoyed by all ages in what seemed to be a continuous stream of people, interested to see what we do and can offer them. We’ve found this to be a fun and challenging way of showing just how well everyone, whatever their challenges, can be included in a game of tennis.
In charge of the wheelchair tennis (we have 6 different chairs available to try out) is Paul – a former GB special Olympics wheelchair coach. Whilst Fiona and Emma, and willing volunteers, will be demonstrating the wide range of adaptive tennis enjoyed during the average week.
