Peter Corr: Biography
Peter Corr was born in Preston, Lancashire, and is now based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. His career as an artist has been shaped by a life of travel and teaching in Germany, Cyprus, and the Middle East before returning to the UK. These rich and varied experiences continue to influence his paintings, which explore the shifting boundary between abstraction and landscape.
Working primarily in oil and cold wax, Peter builds surfaces through layered textures that reflect his desire to celebrate the surface of the picture plane whilst simultaneously alluding to depth and recession. His imagery is rooted in the expansive skies and horizons of the Fens, yet often resonates with memories of other landscapes he has known.
In recent years, his Forest Series, developed during a residency in the New Forest, received widespread interest and success, deepening his exploration of atmosphere, natural form, and surface. Peterโ€™s work has been exhibited with leading UK galleries, including The Darryl Nantais Gallery, Nova Fine Art, and DNG Contemporary. He has shown regularly at major UK art fairs in Battersea, Hampstead, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Cheltenham. His paintings are held in numerous private collections throughout the UK.
Louisa Corr: Biography
Louisa Corr (b. 1988, North West Germany) is a painter whose work reflects a deep fascination with natural forms, stillness, and the human experience. Early years in Doha, Qatar, followed by studies at Leeds University (BA, 2010), and periods living in Vancouver and Banff, Canada, have shaped her perspective and continue to inform her practice.
Now based between North London and Ely, Louisa explores the beauty of everyday life through her art, often turning to flowers as recurring subjects. Her Rosehip and Thistle Series blends realism with minimalist elements, merging direct observation with imaginative interpretation to create imagery that is both striking and quietly surreal.
Working in professional-quality acrylics, Louisa combines representational and abstract techniques, finishing each piece with a black border, ready to hang. She is represented by DNG Contemporary (Scotland) and Nova Fine Art (southern England), and her work is regularly exhibited at leading UK art fairs in Manchester, Edinburgh, Cheltenham, Melrose, and Alexandra Palace, London. Louisa was also selected as a wildcard artist on Sky Artsโ€™ Landscape Artist of the Year, painting at Waddesdon Manor.
