East Cambridgeshire Police are asking all people to be on the look out for fake notes like this in the photo taken at BP in Soham.
The cashier refused to accept them and handed them to the Police. The cashier has been praised by Police for their vigilance.
They look convincing but when in hand, they don’t quite feel right.
The £10 note is smaller than it should, maybe the size of a £5 note and the £50 notes are not on genuine paper.
Their Facebook status on this crime says “Counterfeit money does genuine damage to the economy and inevitably leaves someone out of pocket”
If you have any information about the circulation of fake currency please contact Cambridgeshire Police on 101.
