Final match results of the season for Ely City Hockey Club

Ely City Ladies 1s drew 2-2 away against Haverhill with goals coming from Hannah Brown (1) and Gemma Mott (1) and joint player of the match was awarded to Hannah Brown and Rachel Carpenter. Ladies 1s finished 5th in 3NW League with an overall strong season.

The Ladies 2s finished their season in typical style, beating Cambridge South 5-0. An early hat-trick from Xenia Marshall (who finished an incredible season on 39 goals scored) saw Ely to a comfortable lead at half time. Kirsty Rogers further extended Ely’s lead and in the final minutes of the game sweeper Karen Covey drilled home an unstoppable goal. Ely 2s finished their unbeaten season as league winners, 17 points clear of second place Cambridge city and a goal difference of 106.

Ely City Mens 3s also had a fantastic finish to their season, thumping Wisbech 4s 11-0. Goal scorers were Mark Shirley (1), David Carford (1), Owen Carford (3) Liam Goodson (3) and Ben Reynolds (3). Ely Mens 2s also finished their season strong beating Cambridge South 5s 3-0.
