“Five more sleeps to go, five more sleeps till Santa…”
Don’t panic! The big man’s not due down the chimney just yet – but children at The Lantern School in Ely got into the festive spirit this morning with a special Christmas countdown song.
The reception kids were being recorded as part of Heart Radio’s Sleeps Till Santa special, a festive countdown the radio station plays on its breakfast show each day in the run up to Christmas.
Producer Jonathan Peel said: “We’re going around over 30 schools across Cambridgeshire and beyond.”
As well as singing the countdown song, the 60 children from Owls and Kingfishers classes were recorded wishing presenters Kev and Ros a merry Christmas.
Jonathan also got vox pops from older children at The Lantern, asking them what they wanted for Christmas and what their favourite festive food was.
Manea Community Primary School, Burwell Village College Primary School and Little Thetford C of E Primary School are also involved in the countdown.
