10is Academy is preparing to host free tennis courses for local children and adults.
Children aged between 5 and 8 will who never played tennis will be invited to join the “Tennis for Kids” programme. They will receive stickers, certificates and if they join 4 out of the 6 lessons they will receive a brand new racket. The programme follow on from the success of last year’s initiative which reached 13,000 youngsters nationwide, with the 2017 event aiming to reach the 20,000 mark.
Session will be led by 2016 LTA Cambs coach of the year, Sebastien Scaux, who said: “I recently attended the training course for this programme which was led by Davis Cup Captain Leon Smith, Alfie Hewett (Paralympic silver medalist) and Naomi Cabaday (ex WTA No 171).
Play Tennis is an other programme helping 10is Academy offering Free tennis to children aged 12 & above and adults. New courses such as “Touch 10is” (tennis played on a small court with small rackets and sponge balls), Cardio 10is 4 kids and many more… will be offered at Ely tennis club, King’s School, Highfield school and Witchford Village College.
