Fundraising for ‘Our Heroes in the Sky’

My name is Mel, I am a Wife, a Mum of two beautiful girls. My Story…devastatingly, I lost my younger brother only four years ago in a Road Traffic Collision. EAAA attended, but sadly there was nothing further they could do to save his life. Since then, all I’ve thought of doing is helping others that have been affected in the same way.

My life would never be the same again, and I struggled to find a new normal, so I left my career as a train driver of twenty four years, I just couldn’t do it anymore. I needed to be able to do something else, and give something back.

I’ve recently joined East Anglian Air Ambulance as a volunteer, giving my time for free, to help raise awareness for the amazing work they continue to do, with no government funding!

To my girls I call them “our hero in the sky”, because I just don’t know where we would be without them.

I’m calling on the generous City of Ely, local villages, businesses, hair salons, restaurants and much more! Let’s flood this City in Yellow!! And show our support from the ground!!!

I’ll be making a visit shortly. If you feel you definitely want to help by having a donations box in your store, please message me, I’ll gladly get one dropped to you.

Hopefully, I will be on the Market Place on the 9th September for National Air Ambulance Week. Please come down and show your support or just to find out some more about what these amazing guys actually achieve!!
