VCAEC (Voluntary Community Action East Cambridgeshire), is the Volunteer Centre covering East Cambridgeshire. We operate the Helping Hands Gardening Scheme and the Social Car Scheme, both of which have been helping the local community for over 25 years.
As you will be aware the cost of living is hitting everyone. We are trying to keep our costs to a minimum but this is proving difficult so we could do with your help.
Listed below are FOUR ways you could assist us to help us to continue to run these vital schemes which assist local people.
- The Helping Hands Gardening team could really do with some items of equipment. These can be purchased on https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3VOQSGLKAWE6N?ref_=wl_share OR you could donate your old gardening equipment.
- We have a fundraiser with the COOP Local Community Fund https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/76441. It costs you nothing but a few moments of your time to become a member. For every £1 you spend the COOP gives us 2p which will go towards the Helping Hands Gardening Scheme.
- You could also support us by attending one of the events put on at the Kings Arms in Ely which is supporting us as one of their Charities of the Year.
- And finally we are running a Crowdfunding Campaign https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/voluntary-and-community-action-east-cambridgeshire-1160914 .
“In both the Gardening Scheme survey and the Car scheme survey the respondents have said that they really appreciate what the volunteers do for them. As the CEO I would like this vital work to continue, not only for the local community but for the volunteers who give up their time to assist others which helps their wellbeing.” – Angela Haylock.
